In such cases, the minors' parents were booked under the Juvenile Justice (JJ) Act.

In 2022, 283 cases were registered, which increased to 325 cases this year. Since 2022, a total of 827 cases have been filed, resulting in 683 arrests and a fine collection of over Rs 58.2 lakh.

During a special drive conducted from December 2 to 12, the traffic police registered 76 cases, seized 75 vehicles, arrested 56 people, and confiscated 45 registration certificates. Of these, 15 certificates were forwarded to the Transport Department for suspension.

Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda shared these figures during the weekly police press conference on Friday. He also said that 15 minors were caught doing wheelies, and 10 of their guardians were booked under the JJ Act.

"Wheelies and reckless driving are extremely dangerous. They not only endanger the drivers, but also pose risks to others and their own families. We urge the public to avoid such behaviour," he said.

The police also seized 23 driving licences, with 10 sent to regional transport offices (RTOs) for suspension. Four people caught doing wheelies were found to be under the influence of ganja and were booked under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
