Bengaluru: A 19-year-old boy died after a goods truck struck his two-wheeler and ran him over on Mysuru Road on Wednesday, the police said.
The deceased has been identified as Vinay B. The police have detained the truck driver, Mahesh, and are questioning him.
The incident occurred between 7.30 pm and 7.40 pm.
Vinay was riding from Kengeri towards Bidadi when Mahesh drove his truck (KA 25 A9445) close to the boy's two-wheeler, eventually brushing against it and causing him to fall off.
While his motorbike fell to the left, Vinay fell on the right side. The truck's left rear wheel dragged him for over 20 metres, causing him severe injuries.
Vinay suffered critical injuries to his head, face and hands, and died on the spot, according to the Kengeri traffic police, who have booked the truck driver for causing death by negligence.
