Two vans belonging to a Montessori play home in Kasavanahalli were set on fire allegedly by a former security guard in Bellanduru on Sunday.

Sonali Wadhwa, the owner of the school, has filed a complaint with the Bellanduru police. According to the police, the suspect Nimichu was earlier working as a guard, and his wife was doing housekeeping at the school. The management had terminated them over some work-related issues.

The police suspect that the duo could have set the vans on fire as they wanted to take revenge for being removed from their jobs.

After being alerted, a fire tender rushed to the spot and put out the blaze before it could spread to other areas.

The Bellandur police have registered a case under IPC sections 435 - mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to cause damage and 436 - mischief by fire or explosive substance with intent to destroy a house.
