"As soon as the case was registered, eight people were arrested by the jurisdictional police. One more was subsequently detained. Two are absconding. Their identities are known, and they will be arrested shortly,” said Seemant Kumar Singh, Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru City.

The incident took place on June 30 in AGB Layout, Hesaraghatta. The 19-year-old victim, Kushal KM, had gone there after a minor girl, one of the suspects, asked him to meet her.

The two had broken up recently following an argument. When Kushal reached the spot, he was confronted by the other suspects, who stripped and beat him.

One of them later drove Kushal to his house, took his phone, and deleted all the photographs of the girl.

The arrested suspects are Shivashankar M, Yeshwant Patel, and Rahul M, all 20; Hemanth and Tejas S, both 18; Rakesh R, 21; N Shankar Gowda, 19; and Salman Khan, 23. The minor girl was also detained, the police said.

The absconding suspects have secured interim conditional bail, the police added.

“The interim bail has been granted on certain conditions. They are being verified factually. We will soon submit a response to the court,” Singh said.
