As many as 20 illegal structures including four permanent buildings on footpath were razed to ground on Devasandra Road in Mahadevapura zone on Wednesday.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike took the action following a direction from the High Court.
The road encroached upon by these illegal structures had badly affected the traffic in the area. BBMP officials said that a drive would be launched to clear encroachment on footpath in Mahadevapura zone.
