Twenty-one police personnel of different cadres were honoured on the occasion of ‘Knights in Khaki’ for their efficient work. Their contributions ranged from helping in busting drug rackets, efficient traffic control, to solving murder cases.
The policemen were felicitated by Bangalore City Police Commissioner Raghavendra H Auradkar and Kannada actor Sharmila Mandre. P M Ashraf, constable from Central Crime Branch (CCB) unit, Crime Division, was honoured for good performance in technical Call Detail Records (CDR) analysis with a trophy along with a few gifts.
He said: “It is a challenging job. This is a proud moment for me and my family members.” Ashraf was part of the technical team which investigated the Malleswaram blasts, besides the escape of serial rapist M Jaishankar from the Central Prison.

M N Subramanya, constable from City Crime Records Bureau (CCRB), Crime Division, who is involved in writ petitions and high court matters, said it feels great when recognised.
Lauding the police for their discipline and professionalism, Auradkar said his men undergo physical exhaustion and mental stress in the line of duty.
