Bengaluru: The Transport Department impounded another 22 autorickshaws on Thursday as part of its ongoing crackdown on drivers overcharging passengers and violating permit terms. It also filed cases against 125 drivers.

Seven autos were impounded in the Bengaluru Central RTO limits, six in Electronics City, four in Jnanabharathi, three in Bengaluru West, and two in Devanahalli. 

Twenty-five cases were filed in Electronics City, 23 in Bengaluru North, 20 in Central, 14 each in West and South, nine in East, seven each in Yelahanka and KR Puram, four in Jnanabharathi, and two in Devanahalli. 

Since the crackdown began on June 30, the department has impounded 212 vehicles and filed cases against 731 auto drivers.
