The victim, identified as Subramani, was attacked around 9:30 pm near one of the suspects’ houses, the Yelahanka New Town police said.

The police said Subramani and his friend Bhuvan had a dispute with two acquaintances, Ganesh and Muralidhar.

On Sunday night, Subramani went to Ganesh’s house in Ananthapur to resolve the issue, but an argument broke out.

“During a heated exchange, an enraged Ganesh grabbed a knife from the kitchen and stabbed Subramani,” an investigator told DH.

Subramani was rushed to a nearby hospital, but succumbed to excessive blood loss, the police said.

An FIR has been filed under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) pertaining to murder.

Ganesh and Muralidhar are currently absconding, but the police have leads and are tracking them.
