3 pedestrians killed in separate accidents

 Three persons, including a woman, were killed in separate road accidents, since Wednesday, in the city.

Madi (48), a resident of Lingarajapuram and a housekeeping staff at an apartment in Adugodi, was knocked down by a motorcycle rider near Adugodi police station at 10.30 am on Wednesday. The woman, who sustained serious head injuries in the accident, was rushed to Nimhans where she failed to respond to treatment and died.

The Adugodi police have booked the bike rider Ajay for causing death due to rash and negligent riding. Hunt is on to nab the suspect, Adugodi traffic police said.

A pedestrian identified as Nagaraj (42) was run over by a KSRTC bus in KR Puram at around 3.30 pm on Wednesday. The accident occurred when Nagaraj was crossing the bus bay. The victim was declared brought dead at a hospital in KR Puram. The police have arrested the bus driver and have seized the bus.

In another accident, Rakesh (26), a labourer from Bihar, was knocked down by a Tempo Traveller while he was crossing a junction on Doddanekkundi Road. The victim was immediately shifted to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead.

The driver of the Tempo Traveller abandoned the vehicle and escaped after the accident. The body was shifted to Bowring Hospital for postmortem and a case was registered by the Airport traffic police.
