This year’s market will showcase more sculptural works. Visitors can also expect functional ware such as bowls, saucers, and pourers, as well as home decor items, including Christmas ornaments and wall plates. Prices start at Rs 500 per piece or set.

Kshitija Mitter, a member of the organising committee, says the platform exposes potters to each other’s techniques, and helps them reach new audiences. “Last year, many architects and interior designers made contacts here, which translated into business,” she says.

Alongside the market, senior artists from Bengaluru will exhibit ceramic artworks in two galleries. “The idea of placing ceramic works in a gallery context is to emphasise that ceramics is a serious art form,” Kshitija explains. These pieces start from Rs 50,000.

December 5 to 7, 10.30 am to 7 pm, at Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath, Kumarakrupa Road. Entry free. Details on @blrstudiopotterscommunity on Instagram.
