Ganjam is felicitating Bhabesh Chandra Jana, who was awarded ‘Medallion of Excellence’ at ‘Worldskills Leipzig Germany 2013’, today at 6 pm at Chitrakala Parishat.
Bhabesh Chandra Jana was born in Domjur in West Bengal and after completing his education till sixth standard, he joined the jewellery workshop in the same village as a helper.
He was trained traditionally for almost five years. He then came to Bangalore and joined Ganjam’s associate company in 2011. He was given advanced jewellery training in the company for six months, which is the common practice for all new craftsmen.
He was the only young craftsman who submitted his piece along with the application in the ‘National Level Craft Competition’ in 2012. At the felicitation ceremony, Balan Nambiar, painter, sculptor and enamelist will be the chief guest.
