Upa Lokayukta Justice Subhash B Adi said on Tuesday that developers who form private layouts without providing civic amenities will come under the scanner and criminal cases will be filed against them.

Addressing a press conference at the Lokayukta office, Adi said: “Those who buy sites from private developers must get access to all civic facilities. But a few people are fooling the public through advertisements that claim they have got the permission from BMRDA. We have received many complaints in this regard. Hence, we have decided to file criminal cases against such developers.”  “We have instructed the BMRDA to issue licences only to layouts that have all amenities such as drainage, streetlights and playgrounds,” Justice Adi said.
