Bengaluru: A 35-year-old advocate was hacked to death by his brother near his house in southeast Bengaluru’s Bommanahalli on Friday, the police said.
The deceased, identified as Srikanth, was a resident of Nadamma Layout.
The attack occurred around 11:30 am as he was stepping out of his house. The suspect, identified as Nagendra, is currently on the run, and the police have launched a manhunt to track him down.
The police said Nagendra had been waiting near Srikanth’s house. As soon as Srikanth stepped out, Nagendra pulled out a knife and stabbed him multiple times in the stomach and chest. Neighbours rushed Srikanth to a nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries due to excessive blood loss.
Investigations revealed that Nagendra, who resides in Mysuru, had come to Bengaluru earlier in the week to discuss property inheritance matters with his brother.
The police said that the siblings frequently argued over property issues, which may have led to the fatal attack.
The Bommanahalli police have registered a murder case and are actively searching for the suspect.
