‘Agni’ Sridhar, who is accused of possessing arms illegally, was on Friday granted 15-day interim anticipatory bail.

Sridhar had moved the 53rd Sessions Court seeking bail. Sridhar’s counsel C H Hanumantharaya pleaded before the court to grant bail to his client considering his health as he is hospitalised.

“The police had obtained a search warrant from the court to arrest Rohith presuming that Rohith was hiding at Sridhar's house. However, Rohit was not traced at Sridhar's residence, during the raid. The police wanted to tarnish Sridhar’s image and hence decided to frame him by registering a false case,” he told the court.

The judge Anand Vanamal considered the plea and granted interim bail to Sridhar for two weeks.
