The All India Pre Medical Test (AIPMT) was conducted for the second time in the City on Saturday amidst tight security.
The test is being held for the second time this year following Supreme Court directions, owing to irregularities in the test. Candidates who appeared for the test said unlike the first time, the security was tight this time. Candidates had to remove any product that would be sensitive to the metal detector. Things like hairpins, earrings, belts were not allowed into the exam hall. Water bottles were not allowed.
According to a press release from CBSE, as many as 6,32,625 candidates had registered for the examination of which only 4,22,859 candidates downloaded the admit card.
The examination was conducted at 1,065 centres in 50 cities across the country and in test centres abroad. More than one lakh officials were deployed to ensure fair conduct of examination.
