Bengaluru: 'Kalaloka', a stall showcasing Karnataka’s heritage, will be inaugurated at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in September. This was announced by Large and Medium Industries Minister MB Patil.
The stall, located at the airport's Terminal 2, will sell popular products from across the state, including 28 Geographical Indication-tagged items such as coffee, Mysuru Silk, KSDL’s Sandal Soap, Lidkar products, handicrafts, and handwoven goods.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is expected to inaugurate the 130-sqm stall. Airport authorities have offered the space at a 50% rent concession, Patil said.
A similar outlet is planned at the International Lounge, with tenders to be invited soon.
Patil shared these details after a progress review meeting with senior officials of the Visvesvaraya Trade Promotion Centre (VTPC) and the Department of Industries and Commerce.
