A Lucknow-bound flight of AIX Connect (formerly AirAsia India) returned to Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport after encountering a “minor technical issue”.

Flight i5-2472 took off at 6.50 am but returned to the Bengaluru sky 36 minutes later, publicly available flight tracking data shows.

A spokesperson for AIX Connect said: “AIX Connect confirmed that today’s scheduled morning flight from Bengaluru to Lucknow encountered a minor technical issue and elected to return to Bengaluru as a precaution. The safety and wellbeing of our guests and crew are a priority and we take all precautions to ensure safe and comfortable journeys. Necessary steps are being taken to minimise the impact on other scheduled operations. While an alternative aircraft was being organised, refreshments were provided to guests in the interim.”
The alternative flight took off almost seven hours later, at 2.19 pm, and reached Lucknow at 4.33 pm, data shows.
