Bengaluru: Everybody is equal before law, actor-politician Ramya/Divya Spandana stressed on her Instagram story, reacting to the Supreme Court cancelling actor Darshan's bail in the Renukaswamy murder case.
The Supreme Court on Thursday cancelled the Karnataka High Court's order granting bail to the actor.
Ramya, who has been advocating for justice in the Renukaswamy murder case, wrote on Instagram, “The SC judgement today on setting aside bail to Darshan and others in the Renukaswamy murder case sends out a strong message — ALL ARE EQUAL BEFORE LAW.”
She added: “To the rest of us l'd like to say — follow due process, keep faith in the justice system- it's long and hard but there is light at the end of the tunnel. Do not take law into your own hands, justice will be served. Most importantly, stay true to your conscience.”
Ramya was recently targeted online by fans of actor Darshan after she shared a news report about the Renukaswamy murder case proceedings in the Supreme Court, in which she demanded justice for the victim’s family.
A few hours after the bail was cancelled, the Bengaluru police arrested Darshan, who is accused 2 and his friend Pavithra Gowda, accused 1.
Darshan, Pavithra and 15 others were granted bail last year after their arrest in the brutal murder of Renukaswamy, a resident of Chitradurga, in June 2024.
