Founded in the pre-Independence era, APS is renowned for providing affordable education and offers academic programmes ranging from kindergarten to PhD.

Among its distinguished alumni are Bharat Ratna awardee and chemist CNR Rao, the late Padma Vibhushan aerospace scientist Roddam Narasimha, and film stars Rajinikanth and Upendra.

The reunion will take place at the Basavanagudi campus, the first of the institution’s two campuses. Most alumni expected to attend studied at APS between 1965 and 2010. The event will include a campus tour for attendees, followed by cultural performances.

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, Vishnu Bharath Alampalli, president of the trust, shared plans to hold more alumni events in the lead-up to APS' centenary celebrations. He also highlighted efforts to enhance alumni engagement in supporting former faculty, mentoring current students, and funding infrastructure development.
