Bengaluru: Amitesh Kumar Sinha has taken over as Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Bengaluru Division of South Western Railway, on January 1.
Sinha, an officer of the 1996 Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) batch, is a BE graduate of civil engineering from Visvesvaraya Regional College of Engineering (VRCE), Nagpur.
Before joining as DRM, Sinha worked as executive director (Finance) in the Railway Board where he handled resource mobilisation and PPP projects. He has not only worked in the division, zonal HQ and construction office, but also served in various capacities in various central ministries.
Prior to this, he was joint secretary in the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. He was responsible for policy formation and promotion of the electronics industry through various schemes, including production-linked incentive schemes for mobiles, IT hardware, electronics components, and the semiconductor industry through the Semicon India Programme approved for setting up an ecosystem for design, manufacturing and packaging of semiconductor chips in India. He was also CEO of India Semiconductor Mission.
