St Joseph’s Boys’ High School, Bengaluru secured the first place in a national level innovation competition, ‘Teenovators’, hosted by Manipal Institute of Technology in association with INK Talks.

The team consisted of five students studying in 12th standard. Their ingenuity and innovation was brought to the forefront with a sound assisted fire extinguisher.

The invention used a low frequency and large wavelength sound to extinguish fires of all kinds, thereby revolutionising the entire fire fighting community. The team built the extinguisher with mostly household items and managed to astound the judges with their professionalism and skill.

The competition was held on a grand scale and comprised of over 450 teams from across the country, out of which ten finalists were chosen and given the opportunity to present their ideas to the judges at MIT.
