Andhra Pradesh Tourism conducted a road show in City on Saturday to promote tourist spots in that state. “People in Karnataka are known for their inclination towards leisure.

That is why the state has emerged as an important market for the tourism industry in the country and now it is on the radar of Andhra Pradesh. With this road-show, we look forward to have tie-ups with tour operators in the state,” said Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Special Chief Secretary Chandana Khan.

She also mentioned that various intiatives had been planned to attract tourists to Andhra Pradesh.

“When we mention about Andhra Pradesh, people just think of Tirupati, Charminar or Vizag beach. But, there are many more beautiful places which people are not aware of. We want people to know more about the tourist destinations in the state.”

She said the department had developed rural tourism at Srikalahasti, Pochampally, Kondapally and Kalamkari. It was found that people are more interested to know about the tribal people and their culture, said Madhusudan, an officer from APTDC.

The APTDC will conduct a Hyderabad Travel Meet from February 21 to 23 which will act as a business platform for national and international business firms.
