Bengaluru: The Health Department will appoint 1,000 diploma pharmacy holders, who have passed out in the last two years, as pharmacists on contract basis for 11 months with fixed stipend.

In the order issued by the government, the department said, this is being done to reduce gap between education and employment.

At present, state has 3,000 posts of pharmacists and around 50% of them are vacant. The Finance department has given approval to appoint 400 pharmacists.
