It’s Saturday morning and the crème de la crème is seen hopping to the tiny, yet artistic outlet of The Artful Baker in Khan Market. It might take you a while to spot the patisserie in the market which is located facing the main road.

The place has a seating capacity of not more than 5 people and gets crowded quite often. So while there is not much space to peacefully have your meal, the charming interiors and welcoming bakers will definitely make you want to stay for longer.
Croissants, quiches, sandwiches and breads are so beautifully displayed, that you won’t feel the need to pick up the menu and choose what to order.

Metrolife went to try their breakfast menu. We started with their freshly-made orange juice and watermelon juice. What is known to be the healthiest way to start your day, a glass of this juice will make you feel energetic and refreshed.

Almond Croissant was our first pick. Flaky golden croissants topped with sliced almonds and powdered sugar, the croissant is one of the star dishes of the place. Filled with almond cream and butter, Almond Croissant melted in the mouth with the first bite and was filling.

Another item that caught our attention was the Chicken Quiche, which appeared tiny yet tempting. Baked with roasted chicken, zucchini, bell peppers and oregano, the quiche had a soft texture and admirable combination of flavours.

Brand chef Jeneva Talwar suggested us to try Ham and Cheese Croissant. The
beautiful looking stuffed croissant was difficult to say no to. Soft, buttery and the perfect combination of ham and cheese in the croissant speaks for itself.

Talwar’s artistic expertise could be seen even in a simple cold coffee, which was as cold as you would want it to be, had the right blend of coffee and sugar, and wasn’t heavy on the stomach.

Lastly, we moved on to the desserts section and narrowed our choice to Monte Cristo, which according to Talwar is the highest selling dessert of the place. When a tinge of hazelnut crunch is added to chocolate mousse with a dark chocolate base, the result is this great tasting dessert.

Located in one of Delhi’s poshest localities, The Artful Baker succeeds to meet the demands and the taste of the crowd. If you have a soft corner for croissants and pastries, head over to the patisserie today!
