"I don't know who invited the Governor to attend it. You ask the Governor, not me. Since a retired judge is probing the stampade incident I don't want to comment much," Shivakumar told media here.

He was here to visit the Delhi solid waste management plant.

When asked whether former political secretary to the Chief Minister, K Govindaraj extended the invitation to the Governor, Shivakumar said, "Only the Governor can tell."

Karnataka government has tasked retired high court judge John Michael D'Cunha with submitting a report within a month on the June 4 stampede outside Chinnaswamy Stadium that killed 11 and wounded over 75 during Royal Challengers Bengaluru's IPL victory celebrations.

The Governor took part in the felicitation ceremony of the cricketers along with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar, Home Minister G Parameshwar, Ministers B Z Zameer Ahmed Khan and M C Sudhakar.

When asked if there was any plan to meet the party top brass, Shivakumar said, "Not this time. Since I have to attend urgent meeting at Bengaluru on Yettinahole project, I am leaving for Bengaluru today. I will come on June 18 to meet the Union Ministers on state's pending issues."
