Awareness drive against pilferage

The officials of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) conducted checks in its buses plying in the State and neighbouring states, to keep tabs on incidents of revenue pilferage.

The line checking staff in its drive conducted in February checked as many as 46,899 buses detected 4,628 cases and booked 6,594 passengers. The corporation collected Rs 7.12 lakh as fine and detected revenue pilferage of Rs 86,564. Disciplinary action has been initiated against the errant staff, according to a press release.
