The Ejipura flyover construction is behind deadline by many years.

Bengaluru: Following the dissolution of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP), the long-pending construction of the Ejipura flyover, a proposed rotary flyover at IOC Junction near Mukunda Theatre, and a railway underbridge at Baiyappanahalli have been handed over to Bengaluru Smart Infrastructure Ltd (B-SMILE).

The order in this regard was issued on Monday.

While the Ejipura flyover project, behind deadline by many years, is estimated to cost Rs 307 crore, improving access in and around the Baiyappanahalli third coaching terminal, a long-pending promise, will cost Rs 380 crore.

In its order, the government also posted Raghavendra Prasad BG, Chief Engineer of Bengaluru Solid Waste Management Ltd (BSWML), with additional charge as Chief Engineer of B-SMILE, while pointing out projects that are with B-SMILE so far. These include two separate road white-topping projects, costing Rs 1,700 crore, and Rs 273 crore high-density corridor.

The order also stated that the chief engineer will report directly to the Managing Director of B-SMILE.

GBA order

In a separate order, the government appointed Purushotham Das Hegde as Chief Engineer (Civil) at the newly created projects and coordination wing of the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA).

No work has been assigned to the wing yet.

In another order, the government has entrusted the Chief Town Planner of the GBA to handle applications related to Transferable Development Rights (TDR) certificates.
