Yoga guru Baba Ramdev will conduct a five-day yoga therapy and meditation camp from Saturday at the Tripuravasini auditorium on the Palace Grounds.

The free camp, which is open to the public, will start at 5 am and conclude at 7.30 pm. People of all caste, religion and age can take part in the camp, Ramdev, who is in the City, told reporters on Friday. There will be a special camp for women on March 20 between 3 pm and 5 pm and March 21 is dedicated to children and youth, he said.

In Karnataka, the Patanjali Yoga Foundation trains at least 1,100 people in yoga every day.

Yoga university

The foundation has already  trained about 7,000 people, he said and added that plans were afoot to set up a yoga university of international standard along the lines of the Delhi-based Takshashila Institution.

The university will provide training to at least 1 lakh students, he said. The foundation also plans to start an ‘Acharyakulam’ education centre in every district in the country.

In the first phase, 500 such centres will be started in different places, including one in Bengaluru.
