The BBMP Commissioner Siddaiah decided to cancelled the licence following the Lokayukta findings into the incident.

The body of Subbu, a second standard student, was found floating in a pit dug to install a lift at a building under construction, 36th Cross, 9th Block, Arasu Colony, Jayanagar.

He went out of the house to play the previous evening and drowned in the pit dug to install the lift. The constructor had not kept anything to cover the pit.

The Lokayukta took notice of the incident reported in media and realised the incident took place due to lack of precautionary measures and misconduct of staff of BBMP and Labour Department by way of supervision and monitoring.

A team of Lokayukta officials inspected the building the next day and noticed the constructions were carried out in violation of the plan approved by the BBMP.  The Lokayukta sent the team members’ findings to BBMP and Labour Department.
