Bengaluru: BBMP Chief Commissioner M Maheshwar Rao on Thursday inspected waste processing plants situated at Kannahalli, Seegehalli and Subbarayanapalya, which are among the seven plants handling the city’s waste.
At Kannahalli, he directed officials to formulate a plan to convert the plant — which processes about 350 tonnes of waste daily — into a waste-to-energy facility.
The Seegehalli unit processes about 120 tonnes of waste, while about 5 lakh tonnes of legacy waste continues to remain idle at the plant premises.
The Subbarayanapalya plant processes about 120 tonnes of waste, which is below its capacity, the chief commissioner learnt.
