After techies from Huawei Technologies India Private Limited raised their voice against the illegal garbage dumping near Divyashree Techpark in Kundalahalli, officials from Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) inspected the site earlier this week.

Speaking to DH, Sarfaraz Khan, joint commissioner, health and solid waste management, BBMP, said, “On inspecting the place our officials found that some localities and people from a nearby slum are dumping the garbage at the vacant site next to the Techpark.”

He said that the offenders have been given a warning and action will be taken if they continue to do it.

“This is one of the zones where solid waste management is not done properly. I have directed the officials to remove the garbage from the dumpyard.”

The Techpark is home to a lot of top IT companies including Capgemini, GE, Accenture, Wipro and Qualcomm and has about 7,000 employees.
