Bengaluru: The BBMP on Thursday announced that the draft e-khata certificates of all 22 lakh properties have been published on its web portal.

This is likely to put an end to complaints that their property records are missing. There is, however, a possibility of a property owner not finding his or her name due to translation errors or spelling mismatch.

The draft copies are available on the BBMP's e-aasthi portal.

The BBMP has requested citizens to download the draft copies and apply for the final e-khata by submitting documents such as Aadhaar, property tax ID, sale/registered deed number, Bescom ID, etc. The draft e-khata is on the ward-wise list. The ward number is available on the property tax receipt.

It is a contactless, faceless and online system. "Only in case of incomplete information or mismatch with BBMP records, the case goes to the assistant revenue officer for decision," officials said, discouraging others from coming to the BBMP office. The top officials in civic body have been insisting on avoiding meeting officials in person unless there are errors.

The BBMP has uploaded Do-It-Yourself (DIY) training videos on YouTube.
