Bengaluru: The BBMP has cleared and taken over encroached land amounting to 2.25 guntas near the main gate of Nayandahalli Lake.
A shed with a sheeted roof housed a timber shop in the encroached area near the lake’s main gate adjacent to Mysuru Road. The area falls under the Govindarajanagar assembly constituency in the West Zone.
On instructions from Special Commissioner of Lakes Preeti Gehlot and Chief Engineer Vijay Kumar Haridas, BBMP officials visited the spot on Saturday and initiated the clearing of the encroached area.
Further, the surveyors had surveyed the encroached area and marked the boundary. Following this, the timber shop was asked to vacate the encroached area. Fencing will be installed immediately.
