Bengaluru: The BBMP has published the final selection list of 12,692 candidates for the posts of pourakarmikas (municipal workers) on its on its website (https://bbmp.gov.in/home).
The selected candidates have to submit caste and other documents at zonal offices.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah recently announced that pourakarmikas would be regularised and given appointment letters on May 1.
The recruitment process for Group ‘D’ civic workers, working under direct payment within the BBMP limits, has been conducted in two phases.
In the first phase, 3,673 positions and in the second phase, 11,307 positions — making a total of 14,980 civic worker posts — are to be filled through direct recruitment. Out of these, as per the rules, steps have been taken to appoint 12,692 eligible civic workers, BBMP officials said.
For solid waste management and various cleanliness-related operations, more than 15,000 applications were received from civic workers who are working under the direct payment system (DPS) in the solid waste division.
