Bengaluru: BBMP Chief Commissioner Tushar Girinath announced on Friday that 200 hi-tech public toilets will soon be constructed in Mahadevapura Zone.
The decision follows requests received during a grievance redressal meeting in the area.
"Empty sites are being identified in Mahadevapura for the construction of these toilets. Once the land is finalised, tenders will be floated for their development,” Girinath said.
The chief commissioner also inspected the KR Puram zone and surrounding areas, which are experiencing a surge in mosquito breeding due to stagnant water in stormwater drains. Problem areas with water stagnation were identified, and fogging operations were carried out on Friday to mitigate the issue.
