In tune with its decision to adopt smart technology in the conduct of examination, Bangalore University (BU) has evaluated 45,000 hand-written answer scripts of BCA examinations held in May 2011 digitally, and hosted them online.
Students will be able to view their answer scripts by logging into www.bu-admexam.in with their register number. The answer scripts will also be made available to students through their registered e-mail IDs and SMS alerts.
The university tied up with Mindlogicx, a Bangalore-based knowledge management company, to launch the project, Digital Valuation System (DVS), Vice Chancellor N Prabhu Dev told reporters here on Wednesday.
A far cry
The initiative would reduce sharply the time taken to obtain photocopies of answer scripts. A student can get her/his photocopy almost immediately, a far cry from the earlier system in which students had to wait for about a week to get a mere photocopy of their answer sheets.
The Vice-Chancellor hoped that the initiative would bring in a “sea change” in the way students applied for revaluation and challenge evaluation. Now, students would no longer have to submit the photocopies for the purpose.
On a pilot basis
The project has been implemented on a pilot basis, for BCA examinations. It will be employed for all examinations conducted by the university from October-November, 2011 onwards when BU aims to digitise 20 lakh answer scripts.
The university will pay Rs 15 per answer script to the firm. DVS is part of IntelliEXAMS, an e-governance suite for examination management system.
