Bengaluru: The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) on Friday announced a waiver of interest amounts on civic amenity (CA) plots for a period of 120 days.

The move is expected to benefit around 1,600 CA site holders, who were unwilling to renew their lease agreements due to huge outstanding dues. BDA Chairman N A Haris said the interest was waived as many CA sites — mostly belonging to religious and educational institutions — were unable to renew their leases since the interest amount had exceeded the lease amount. “It is a one-time offer,” he said. He announced the launch of the BDA’s new public grievance cell, which will become operational from Saturday.
