BDA to list sites used without acquisition procedure

The Bangalore Development Authority has begun identifying sites used without following the proper land acquisition procedure.

BDA commissioner Rakesh Singh, who recently issued an order to this effect to ensure that there are no irregularities, said the agency has used up land on many occasions without following proper acquisition and compensation procedures. In some other cases, compensation has not been paid up.

In an official order issued on July 13 to BDA officials, Singh said such cases caused huge embarrassment to the organisation's top level because people have moved the court and sought compensation.
