Bengaluru: A bomb scare was reported at the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) in Bengaluru on Sunday, police officials said.
They said the Airports Authority of India (AAI) received an email, claiming that explosives had been planted on the airport premises.
"Powerful explosive devices are hidden inside backpacks placed around the Airport. You must evacuate the building urgently. You must hurry, or the people inside will die, lose their arms and legs, or even get decapitated. WE, 'Roadkill' and 'Kyo' are the culprits behind this terror attack (sic),” the email from roadkillandkyokill@atomicmail. io read.
A Bomb Threat Assessment Committee (BTAC) was immediately constituted, and after a thorough check, the threat was declared a hoax. A case has been registered by the airport police, and an investigation is underway, officials said.
