Bengaluru: Panic spread through the District Surveillance Office on the Old TB Hospital campus in eastern Bengaluru on Monday morning after staff discovered materials associated with black magic tied to the main door.
Indiranagar police rushed to the office on Old Madras Road and removed the materials — a black thread, lemons and a broken earthen pot — allowing the employees to resume work.
A senior police officer said that staff arriving around 10 am were shocked to find lemons, black threads and the broken earthen pot tied to the main door. Several of them reportedly left the premises in fear.
District Surveillance Officer Dr Sharath Babu HD alerted the Indiranagar police and filed a written complaint. He also informed senior district officials of the Health and Family Welfare Department about the incident.
"We have obtained CCTV footage and are verifying it to identify those responsible. The motive behind the act is yet to be established. We are probing all possible angles, including any civic disputes or internal rivalries," the police officer added.
