Bengaluru: The South Western Railway (SWR) has announced the closure of a key road link for nine months for the construction of a road underbridge in western Bengaluru.
The road connecting Dodda Alada Mara Road from Bengaluru–Mysuru Road/Ramohalli Railway Gate No 16, between the Kengeri and Hejjala railway stations, will be closed from Sunday to facilitate the construction of an RUB in lieu of level crossing number 16.
The work is aimed at "improving road safety and easing traffic flow in the region", a long-term benefit expected to alleviate the frequent traffic congestion caused by the existing level crossing, the SWR said.
Commuters who regularly use this route, particularly those heading towards Ramohalli and the famous Big Banyan Tree (Dodda Alada Mara), are advised to plan their journeys meticulously, the SWR said.
