Commuters using Hosur Road, particularly around the Bommanahalli Junction, have been advised to prepare for significant traffic disruptions on Friday, after 3 pm, due to a large Eid Milad procession. The traffic advisory by the Bengaluru Traffic Police states that the Bommanahalli Muslim Youth Welfare Association will be organising the event, prompting the issuance of a comprehensive traffic advisory by city authorities.

The procession is expected to draw between 2,000 and 2,500 devotees, accompanied by 17 to 20 tableau vehicles. It will commence at 3 pm from the Mecca Mosque in Mangammanapalya, Madina Nagar.

The route will traverse critical arterial stretches, starting on Mangammanapalya Main Road, proceeding along the Hosur Road Service Road, and then merging onto the Hosur Main Road near the Mangammanapalya Bus Stand. After taking a U-turn near the 21st pillar, the cavalcade will proceed towards Bommanahalli Junction, before concluding in front of the Urdu School behind Jamia Masjid on Begur Road.

Authorities anticipate major bottlenecks at Bommanahalli Junction, Rupena Agrahara, and Garvebhavipalya Junction. The disruption is expected to particularly affect vehicles entering and leaving Bengaluru City via Hosur Road in the afternoon.

The traffic department has strongly urged commuters to cooperate and utilise the following alternative routes to mitigate congestion:

Alternative routes for commuters

For traffic from Wilson Garden and Adugodi: Vehicles are advised to proceed via Dairy Circle, take Bannerghatta Road, and then connect to Hosur Road using the NICE Road.

For traffic from the Banashankari side: Vehicles coming via the Double Decker Flyover should turn right at Jayadeva Junction, continue along Bannerghatta Road, and subsequently reach Hosur Road via the NICE Road.

For traffic from the Outer Ring Road (Marathahalli side): Commuters should take a left turn onto 27th Main Road, proceed to Kudlu via Vemana Junction and Somasundarapalya, and then continue onward to Hosur Main Road.

For vehicles travelling from Hosur towards Bengaluru city: The use of the Electronic City Elevated Flyover is highly recommended as the primary alternative.
