Bengaluru: The 17th Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) will be held from January 29 to February 6, 2026.
Feature fiction films produced between January 1, 2025, and December 31, 2025, in Kannada or any dialect of Karnataka, with a minimum duration of 70 minutes are eligible to apply for screening at the festival.
In the Chitrabharati-Indian Cinema Competition section, feature fiction films produced between January 1 and December 31, 2025, in any Indian language, including English and Indian dialects, with a minimum duration of 70 minutes are eligible to apply.
In the third section of the Asian Cinema Competition, feature fiction films produced between January 1 and December 31, 2025, in any Asian country, with a minimum duration of 70 minutes, are eligible to apply.
For the Chitrabharathi-Indian Cinema and Kannada Cinema Competition and for Indian films applying for the Asian Cinema Competition, the date of issue of the certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) will be considered as the date for the purpose of ascertaining the date of film production.
Fee
A fee of Rs 3,000 per film entry through online transaction for Karnataka and Indian films applying in the Indian, Kannada and Asian cinema competition sections is applicable.
The online film submission for the 17th BIFFes competition sections begins on December 6 and the last date for film submission is December 31, 2025.
The festival is organised by the Department of Information and Public Relations and Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy.
