Bengaluru: The Bengaluru police have begun action against foreign nationals staying in the city without proper documentation, officials stated on Tuesday. This drive aims to address the presence of persons illegally residing in the city.
As part of a Central Crime Branch (CCB) operation, two persons from Nigeria and Senegal were handed over to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) for detention as they had overstayed their visas.
Three others from Cameroon and one from Sudan were sent to a detention centre for failing to provide documents for their stay.
CCB officers also detained five more people and handed them over to the respective stations as they were wanted in various drug-related cases.
