Bengaluru: Karnataka Lokayukta police on Saturday arrested police inspector of Ramamurthy Nagar station, among others, in Bengaluru on charges of bribery.

Officials said the arrested are Rajshekar, 48, the PI; Ruman Pasha, 32, a PSI at the station, and Imran Babu, 32, from DJ Halli, who is a private person.

Lokayukta police said they laid the trap after the complainant told them that the police officers and the private person had demanded a bribe of Rs 2 lakh for recovering jewellery and cash his wife took without his knowledge.

The suspects were caught while accepting Rs 1 lakh as part of the bribe. Lokayukta police have processed the arrest and recovered the bribe money.
