Bengaluru: The Bengaluru city police have developed a new application, 'BCPChat', for internal communication to maintain secrecy around investigations conducted on a daily basis.

Announcing the app’s launch on Friday at a press conference, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda pointed out that most popular messaging apps are foreign-developed, and the police often discuss sensitive case details over such platforms. To ensure encrypted communication and enhanced security, the department has introduced this dedicated app.

Dayananda said the application will be used exclusively for internal communication among police personnel. It has easy options to report daily crimes, share situation reports, and store case files. The app also offers extensive storage capabilities to help officers manage records and reports.
