Bengaluru: The city received light to moderate rainfall for the second straight day, with showers leaving many areas dark and cloudy by 2 pm.

Many areas received heavy showers only for a brief period, mostly in the afternoon. However, a cloudy weather prevailed through the day with sporadic light drizzle. 

Mahadevapura and areas around the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) received the highest rainfall. 

The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) Bengaluru city observatory recorded 1.6 mm of rainfall between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm. The HAL airport observatory recorded 3.4 mm. The Bengaluru Urban automatic weather station recorded 2.5 mm. 

The IMD has forecast thunderstorms accompanied with gusty winds in the city over the next week. 

According to the IMD, light to moderate rains will be accompanied with gusty winds at a speed of 30-40 kmph.

The maximum and minimum temperatures in the city will hover around 29 and 20 degrees Celsius, respectively. 

Waterlogging woes 

Waterlogging was reported in a few areas owing to heavy rains in a short period.

Waterlogging was reported from Bagalur Cross towards the International Airport, NR Junction towards Town Hall, Kogilu Junction towards Kogilu village, Kogilu flyover towards the city, Kote Cross towards the city, Puttenahalli towards Yelahanka, and Bagalur Cross towards the city.
