Bengaluru: Lokayukta police on Monday arrested two government officials for allegedly accepting bribes.

In the first case, Sanna Parashuram, 59, Executive Engineer at BSWML in Bengaluru was caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 45,000 at his residence.

The complainant had alleged that the suspect sought the bribe to clear a tender bill of Rs 52.80 lakh.

In the second case, Neelakantaiah, 58, AEE, BBMP, Begur Subdivision in Bengaluru Bengaluru and Rakshith Yadav, (age unclear), a city-based contractor were arrested while accepting a bribe of Rs 50,000.

Lokayukta police said that the duo had sought the bribe to issue road-cutting permissions.

The Lokayukta police have registered cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Further proceedings have been initiated.
