Bengaluru: An Indo-Korea International Conference was held at Christ (Deemed to be University) on July 21 and 22.
The fifth edition brought together over 50 delegates from India and South Korea, focusing on the theme ‘Navigating Towards a Sustainable Future: AI and Society’.
The event opened with a symbolic ‘Watering of the Tree’ ceremony, marking the growth of Indo-Korean friendship and shared knowledge.
Day 1 also featured the Indo-Korea AI Film Festival, showcasing projects such as 'Eddington', 'Gulliver in Yuldo', 'Silk Road Man Marco Polo', 'Me with the King Kempegowda', and 'The Rude Upstairs Neighbour'.
Speaking at the event, Chang-Nyun Kim, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, said, "Governments must now act not only as regulators, but as facilitators and enablers of ethical AI ecosystems — ensuring inclusion, equity, and readiness for the changing job landscape."
The second day featured panel discussions on topics including ‘AI in Governance and Public Policy’, ‘Ethnography, AI, and the Future of Public Services’, ‘AI and Human Rights’, and ‘Balancing AI Innovation with Social Responsibility’. About 40 participants from both countries presented research papers and posters.
