The Board, in its press release, stated that it has not appointed any private agency to provide water connections in the newly added areas of the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP).
The details of fee for new connections are as follows: Rs 2,040 for house with only ground floor; Rs 2,640 for house with ground and first floor; (If there are more than five sanitary lines, Rs 120 a line will be charged.); Rs 2,313 for temporary non-domestic connection and Rs 250 for converting non-domestic to domestic connection.
Pro rata fee
House buildings - Rs 150 a sq metre; multi-storey apartment building – Rs 200 a sq metre.
Central and State government building – Rs 240 a sq metre; commercial building- Rs 300 a sq metre; in case of apartment, an inspection fee of Rs 2,500 and for commercial building, depending on the area, an inspection fee of Rs 1,000 to Rs 4,000 is collected.
